Al,

Thank you for your comment and for reading my blog. However, in this entry, I was not talking about Matti’s origins but his hair cut, which had the shape of what we called a dutch boy hair cut back in the day. Matti is of Estonian origin born in Sweden and we were in grade 5 and 6 together at Wellesley Public School and occasionally walked home together.

er, um.... Matti was far from being a blonde little dutch boy. He was born in Sweden - might want to update your blog entry.

Rubin. Wonderful !!

What never ceases to amaze and befuddle is that it's taken these many years to truly appreciate the great talent and literary brilliance that we were obviously surrounded by at Jarvis, dear Lady Minerva!

Please advise me on the release date of your novel(la) . I await with great anticipation and baited breath. Almost as excited as going to the first sock-hop .

Hi Rubin,
Today is Rosh Hashana (second day) and I just read your blog, and loved it. So - I am taking the opportunity to wish you Shana Tova, and good "engine running" in the coming year. I shall read your other blogs, and will add another comment re. the Jarvis Reunion, which I just received from Taida...and that is how I reached your blog...
A Happy and Healthy New Year, from Jerusalem!

For a moment there I thought you were one of my Rabbi whose name is Rabbi Manis Friedman. That is when I notice that your first name was Rubin. Who knows you could be one of 12 kids but I doubt so. Anyway... keep up wth the blog because its pretty interesting.

I don't think of myself as "opposite" to women. Sometimes we are very much alike. But as you say, life is mysterious.

Rubin - what a great memory you have to recapture this delightful time of our lives - the boys and girls - the chasing and roughhousing. I remember the boys at Rose Ave P.S. pelting us with snowballs when leaving school and rubbing snow in our faces. It was scary but exciting. Things don't ever change even now we have such strong feelings toward the opposite sex. I think this trip awakened my femenineness (sp?) and all that goes with it. Life is mysterious.

Rubin - love your writing & thanks for mentioning me. I enjoyed very much talking with you on pub night at the school. Let's have another reunion in 2 years just for us 60's grads. We are the most enthusiastic and we should get together again!!! We don't need the fancy dinner/band just a place to meet and share memories and laughs. There was not enough time.
